Description
Ty-isa is a two-storey building constructed from rendered and whitewashed stone rubble, topped with a slate roof. It is built into steeply sloping land and features a cellar beneath the lower end. The structure consists of three bays, including a parlour in the lower bay, a central living room and kitchen, and an upper bay that appears to be contemporary with the rest of the building, located beyond the main axial stack.
The entrance is a boarded door situated under a flat canopy between the first and second bays, leading directly to the stair. The building has sixteen-paned windows throughout, with the top central four panes being hinged. Inside, there is a timber-framed truss between the stair and the living bay, which extends into the roof. Originally, access to the cellar was via a steep winding stair from under the stair, but this has been replaced by access from the lower gable end, where a window was removed to create the new entrance.
