Description

This is a K6 pattern standard cast iron public telephone call box located at Hafod. It features a domed roof and four lunettes that contain embossed crowns above red lettered opals and ventilation slits. This design is a derivative of the original 1936 design by Giles Gilbert Scott. The call box was made by Carron Company in Scotland and was erected for the General Post Office after 1936. The rear is blank and includes Mark 2 asymmetrical cable entry slots. The internal equipment has been modernised.
