Description

The boundary wall to the rear garden of Ruthin Castle Hotel dates back to the time of the castle and serves as a boundary with the footpath that encircles the grounds. The wall curves at the western end to connect with the walls of the former Lord's Garden.

It is built from large blocks of random stone, including some blocks of red sandstone that match the stone used in Ruthin Castle. The wall has undergone some rebuilding and repair. It functions as a high retaining wall for the footpath, featuring low buttresses along part of its length. In the garden, the wall stands approximately 1.3 meters high on the eastern side and about 1 meter high on the western side.
