Description
The west and south boundary walls of the gardens to St Fagans Castle are high walls made of limestone, approximately 3 meters tall, with rough capping. The western stone boundary wall extends south from the gazebo, initially reaching the east-west pathway located to the north of the 1766 boundary. This pathway leads out of the gardens through a gateway that is flanked by tall stone piers topped with ball finials. The west boundary wall continues south over a subway and then further south until it reaches a corner just northeast of Nos. 1 and 2 Twyn Cottages. This gateway features piers of stone arranged in irregular courses, also topped with capping and ball finials, and includes a pair of boarded gates that curve downward at the top. Finally, the wall runs northeast uphill to connect with the medieval curtain wall of the castle.
