Description

No. 1 The Twyn is a 2-storey cottage built with local rubblestone walls, featuring brick heads and dressings. Originally, it had a thatched roof with eyebrows, but it now has a plain tile roof and red brick stacks. This cottage is one of a pair, with No. 2 situated uphill from No. 1. The building has a central entry and a double depth plan, along with single storey rear extensions.

On the first floor, No. 1 features three small 2-light casement windows with small panes. The ground floor has a taller 2-light casement window with small panes on either side of the central doorway, which has a flat arch and a glazed porch.

The interior was not inspected during the recent survey, but a previous description from 1977 noted that the west ground floor room contained thick ceiling beams resting on corbels.
