Description
Riverside Cottage is a two-storey building with local rubblestone walls and a late 20th-century tile roof, which replaced an earlier thatched roof. The east-facing front has two bays and a central door bay, featuring colourwashed cladding. It has casement windows with iron lattices; the upper window openings have slightly cambered heads, while the ground floor window openings have flat heads. There is a central porch with a tile gabled roof and trellised sides, leading to a four-panelled door. The gable wall includes a window in a cement frame on each floor.
At the rear, there is a one-storey extension, likely built in the early 20th century, which extends beyond a single-storey extension that probably dates from around 1980 and features a three-light window with a segmental head. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey, but a previous description notes visible purlins and rafters of thin scantling on the first floor, along with chimney-breasts that remain despite the original fireplaces being blocked, and a dairy.
