Description
Nos. 3 and 4 Castle Hill are two houses built with local rubblestone walls, featuring red brick dressings and a colourwashed front. They have thatched roofs with eyebrow details and are designed with a two-storey, single-depth plan that includes small rear wings. Each house consists of two window bays with a central door bay. The front wall of each house has a door with a canopy on the right side, and to the left, there is a 2-light casement window above and a 3-light casement window below, both with diamond panes, which were changed in the late 20th century. Each house also has a pair of diamond-set brick chimney stacks, likely added around 1855. The original rear walls still exist, featuring small rectangular window openings, while the rear wings, which have slate roofs, were added in the mid to late 19th century. The rear elevation was not seen during the resurvey. The interior was not inspected at the time of the resurvey.
