Description
East Cottage, located at Nether Tullicro, likely dates back to the 18th century and has been renovated, extended, and rethatched in the late 20th century. This single-storey, three-bay vernacular cottage retains its early appearance with small openings on the exterior. The walls are made of rubble, featuring some large base stones that create a distinct batter.
The symmetrical entrance is on the south elevation, which has a central two-leaf boarded door flanked by small windows. The rear elevation includes a tiny window in the center and another window to the right. At the east gable, there is a low glazed bay with a grassed roof that connects to a single-storey and attic extension that is harled and slated. Additionally, there is a small single-storey outshot with a piend roof at the west gable.
The replacement windows have a six-pane glazing pattern. The cottage has a thatched roof with a concrete ridge and rendered gablehead chimneystacks with cans.
The interior has been comprehensively modernised.
