Description

14-14a Clwyd Street is a building in the late Georgian style, rendered and lined under a slate roof. It features a brick end stack on the left and a brick ridge stack offset to the right at the junction of 14 and 14a. The ground slopes steeply from right to left, resulting in different floor levels for the properties.

No. 14 has a two-window range and is two-and-a-half storeys tall. The ground floor includes a wide opening on the left leading to a through-passage, and a small shop front on the right with a door and window in a continuous raised surround. The left side has a 20th-century glazed door under a segmental head with a keystone, while the right side features a 12-pane horned sash window. The first floor has 12-pane horned sashes with flat heads and stone sills, and the attic storey has 6-pane horned sashes with stone sills positioned just under the eaves. At the rear, there is a two-storey flat-roofed block added, likely from the mid to late 20th century.

No. 14a is a two-storey building with a two-window range. The ground floor has a large inserted shop window from the late 20th century, which may replace an earlier window. The upper storey features 12-pane hornless sash windows under segmental heads. There is a large catslide lean-to at the rear with late 20th-century fenestration, and the rear elevation, visible on the far left, is constructed of red brick.

The interior has not been inspected.
