Description
The West (Former Main) Gates to Nantclwyd Hall are a broad wrought-iron gateway with freestone rusticated piers and plinth walls. They are located at the angle between two roads and served as the main entrance to the park of Nantclwyd until the 1960s.
The main gate piers are tall and slender, featuring a pronounced cornice and a finial ball on a large plinth. On either side of the main gates, there is a single gate with outer piers that resemble the central piers but are shorter. Each side of the gates is flanked by a curved fixed railing on a plinth wall, with outer piers that are similar in design but lower and without the ball finials. Additionally, a line of low railings marks the south side of the grounds of the gate lodge, which includes a small gate leading to the lodge.
