Description
The barn at Garth-y-neuadd is a Grade II listed building constructed from local slatey stonework, featuring larger stones at the base of the walls and large quoins. It has a slate roof with a tile ridge. On the east elevation, the stable section includes a boarded door with a timber lintel and a restored window. The central two-bay barn has slit ventilators on either side of a stone-voussoired camber-headed doorway, which was formerly accessed by steps. Above this doorway is a single boarded loft-hatch. To the right, the loosebox has a door with a stone lintel and a hayloft or granary hatch above, along with additional slit ventilators and a boarded door in the gable end.
At the rear, there is a small barn window at low level, along with two loft doors and two hatches. Inside, there is a stone partition at ground floor level separating the stable from the barn. The barn features queen-strut trusses with lapped purlins.
