Description

The retaining and boundary wall of Meliden Railway Yard is constructed from local axe-dressed limestone masonry that is informally coursed. It stands approximately 4 meters high on the road side, sloping inward at about 10 degrees from vertical. On the yard side, the freestanding section of the wall is about one and a half meters tall. The top of the wall features half-round sandstone coping. The wall extends north to the boundary with the adjacent property, but the lower section that continues in front of the adjacent property is not included in the listing.
