Description
Boots Pharmacy is a large three-storey building with a double-pile plan, dating from the 19th century. It features a symmetrical facade with the upper floors made of fine limestone ashlar. The shallow slate roofs have tall end chimneys at the front. The ground floor has a modern shop front with a central entrance. On the first floor, there is a long four-part horizontal modern window that replaces three 19th-century sash windows; the flat-arched lintels with projecting keystones from the original windows are still visible above the modern addition. The second floor retains three original unhorned nine-pane sashes, which have projecting stone sills. Above, there is a moulded cornice with a stone parapet. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
