Description

Linden Cottage is a two-storey building constructed from limestone ashlar, featuring hipped slate roofs with wide eaves and a moulded stack at the rear. The structure consists of three rectangular blocks with vertical joints between them.

The central block, which is the original part of the building, has a smooth ashlar finish and a hipped roof. On the first floor, there is a small-paned two-light casement window on the right and a later 19th-century horned two-over-two pane sash window at eaves level on the left. The ground floor includes a platband, paired small-paned casement windows to the right, and a similar triple window in the center, with the right window being blind. The east block is made of rough ashlar and has a roof that is hipped to the right and gabled to the left, featuring exposed rafter ends. This block has no windows facing the street and includes 20th-century windows at the rear. The west block projects to the south and has a roof hipped to both the north and south. The street front features a small-paned two-light casement window on the ground floor, while the west facade has two two-over-two pane sash windows on the first floor. A late 19th-century stack with semicircular arches leads to a cornice of a cylindrical shaft decorated with leaves and flowers. The entrance is through a 20th-century door located in a wall attached to the north-west corner. The interior has not been inspected.
