Description
Edwards Fresh Food is a Renaissance-influenced shop and house that stands three storeys tall and features two bays. The lower storey is constructed from light grey rock-faced random stone with freestone dressings. The middle and upper storeys are finished in cream-painted pebble-dash, accented by smooth-rendered quoin strips, architraves, and a sill band on the upper storey. The building has a slate roof with end stacks.
The wide central entrance is set beneath a pediment and includes recessed double folding half-glazed panel doors. This entrance is flanked by cross windows, which also have pediments. Above, a freestone entablature displays modern shop lettering, situated below a corbelled moulded cornice.
The middle and upper storeys are adorned with tripartite 9-pane hornless sash windows. On the left gable end, facing Crown Lane, there is a cross window in the lower storey that resembles the front windows.
At the back, there is a gabled wing made of pebble-dash, featuring smooth rendered quoin strips, banding, and architraves. On the left side facing Crown Lane, there is a boarded door. The first and second floors of this wing each have two windows, all of which are replacements in earlier openings, except for a 9-pane hornless sash window on the upper right.
