Description
This is a late 18th or early 19th century farmhouse, originally with servant's quarters at the southern end and a lofted stable to the right. It is a long, one-and-a-half-story building with a four-window front, arranged in a 1-2-1 pattern. The building is constructed of rubble masonry, which has been limewashed. It has a slate roof with limewashed rubble stacks, including two ridge stacks and a gable stack at the south end. The front of the house faces east.
The former servant's quarters are a single-window range on the far left (south) side, featuring a boarded door offset to the north, a modern casement window, and a 6-pane casement window to a gabled half dormer. The main farmhouse section to the right (north) has two similar dormers, with 4-pane casement windows and a boarded door offset to the left (south). The lofted stable has a single window on each floor; the first-floor window is 2-paned and set directly under the eaves, while the ground-floor opening is boarded and has a boarded door offset to the left (south). All ground-floor openings have shallow, elliptically arched stone surrounds.
Access to the stable loft is via brick steps at the north gable return, with boarded doors under timber lintels, both to the loft and to the area below the steps. At the rear, a lean-to addition is built of rubble and has a slate roof extended over it. The main house has a single raking half dormer with a 4-pane casement window, with access to the lean-to through a modern door at the north end and a modern casement window offset to the right.
