Description

This building at 1 Madoc Street is a shop with accommodation above, featuring three storeys plus an attic. It has a rendered exterior and a slate roof. The original sash glazing has been replaced with imitation materials. A bracketed cornice adds detail to the façade. Facing Madoc Street, there are two gabled dormers and two windows on the second floor. On the ground floor, there is a splayed bay window on the left and a square-headed window on the right. The late 19th to early 20th century cast-iron verandah has columns with capitals and moulded bases, along with spandrils and bands of cresting between the spandrils. The verandah elevation consists of three bays. The building features lean-to corrugated roofs.
