Description
The Yorkshire Building Society is a three-storey structure featuring a slate roof and bracketed eaves. The front is finished in stucco with quoins. On the top floor, there are three camber-headed sash windows set within architraves. The building has a projecting two-storey, five-window extension designed in a free Renaissance style, which includes a central Dutch gable flanked by a curvilinear parapet with volutes. This extension has a central round-headed sash window, with two rectangular sash windows on either side, and is accentuated by tapering pillars. The ground floor is distinguished by Ionic columns and includes, from the right, a doorway leading to the chambers above (with a deep cornice), a doorway to the building society, and three windows.
