Description
The Ormescliffe Hotel, located at Nos. 5 to 8 East Parade, is a group of four buildings that now function as a hotel.
Number 5 is a three-storey structure with an attic over a basement, featuring a two-window front. It has an eaves cornice adorned with dentils and paired brackets, and is constructed of stucco with string courses and quoins on the right side. The slate roof is primarily fitted with sash glazing. There are two gabled dormers with modern glazing, and on the top floor, there are two paired windows with rounded corners. The first floor includes a canted bay window on the left that extends down to the basement level, and on the right, there is a tripartite "Venetian window." The ground floor has steps leading up to a round-headed doorway that has been converted into a window.
Number 6 is similar to Number 5 but is set slightly forward. It features a balustrade above the first-floor window on the right and a doorway flanked by pilasters, topped with a modern canopy.
Number 7 mirrors Number 6 but is reversed left-to-right and does not have the balustrade or canopy.
Number 8 is set back from Number 7 and resembles Number 5 but is also reversed left-to-right, with its doorway converted into a window.
