Description
2 Lion Street is a two-storey former pair of cottages, built in a reflected style. The structure features rubble masonry and has a moderately pitched slate roof with close eaves and bargeboards. A central stone chimney stack is present, along with water tabling. There are two later gabled stone dormers on the first floor, which have rubble cheeks and bargeboards. The building includes Victorian sash windows with stone lintels.
On the ground floor to the right, there is a 19th-century shopfront that has a plain fascia with a dripboard supported by brackets. This shopfront features a three-light window and a plank door to the right. Above the shop window is a shallow rectangular fanlight, with sunk panelled pilasters and a rubble stallriser. To the left, there is a vertically paned eight-pane sash window, although the horizontal glazing bars have been removed. A doorway is located at the extreme left, with a three-light rectangular fanlight above a part-glazed modern door, and a long lintel rendered over it.
