Description
The Hay Barn at Gellilwyd Fach Farmhouse is an L-shaped lofted cartshed and hay barn range, built as part of the estate and contemporary with the farmhouse. It features coursed rubble masonry and a moderately pitched quarry slate roof laid in diminishing courses, with a hipped section over the hay barn and deep verges at the gable end of the cartshed.
There is a broad deep stone lintel above the cartshed entry, which has been partially blocked to create a smaller doorway. To the right, there is a pitching door located under the eaves, and to the left gable end, a loft door with a stone lintel and a plank door, accessed by a stone staircase. The hay barn is situated to the right and is open-sided, supported by rectangular rubble piers, with a solid rear wall to the west.
