Description

Gelliwyd Fach Farmhouse is a two-storey farmhouse with an apsidal end, built as part of an estate. It features coursed rubble masonry and a steeply pitched quarry slate roof laid in diminishing courses. The roof is hipped over the apsidal end, with plain eaves and close verges on the gabled rear elevation. A polygonal stone central stack sits on a base and has an ornamental cap with water tabling.

The entrance front faces east and has three windows under the eaves on the first floor. The outer windows are blocked, while the center features a two-light casement. There is a gabled stone porch with close verges, and the doorway is offset to the left, topped with a stone lintel and a part-glazed door. To the left of the porch is a Victorian sash window, and to the right is a modern sash window, both with stone lintels. The apsidal right end has one window elevation, featuring a Victorian sash window under the eaves on the first floor and a similar deeper window on the ground floor, also with a stone lintel. A modern window is located on the left gable end, and there is a modern privy below.

Adjoining to the west is a contemporary stable, constructed of rubble masonry. It has a moderately pitched slate roof with oversailing eaves. A gabled dormer is situated over the loft doorway, featuring bargeboards, slate-hung cheeks, and a plank door. Below, there is a stable door with a stone lintel and a split door. To the right, a four-pane fixed light window is present, along with another split door at the extreme right. A lean-to stone porch with a slate roof is attached to the left side of the house, which has been extended in concrete block. Victorian sash windows are located below the eaves and on the ground floor at the rear, all with stone lintels. The rear roof pitch is covered with quarry slates, while the western end of the range has been largely modernized.
