Description
Brynllin Fawr is a two-storey farmhouse with a storeyed wing that projects at the northern end of the main eastern elevation. It features a single-storey outshot at the left southern gable and an added implement store at the opposite end. The building is constructed from roughly coursed rubble masonry, incorporating large boulders as quoins and massive boulders as lintels along the principal elevation, while the rear elevation is made of poorer quality rubble masonry. The slate roof has rectangular ridge stacks with dripstones and capping.
The main entrance is offset to the left southern end of the building, flanked by ground floor casement windows, with smaller casements positioned under the eaves. The advanced wing contains a blocked doorway in the southern wall and ground and first floor casements in the eastern gable. The rear western wall features a three-window range of first and ground floor casements, along with a single first floor window in the northern gable of the main range. The single-storey outshot at the southern gable has a boarded door offset to the right northern side, while the opposite gable has a single-storey addition in a ruinous condition, with drystone construction on the side walls and an open front wall featuring three wide bays, supported by square mortared stone piers.
Inside, the ground floor has a lobby entry plan, with the main door leading into the room on the southern side, to the left of the chimney. The rooms retain chamfered cross beams and joists, although the ceiling of the kitchen at the southern end of the main range is now enclosed. The sitting room, located to the right northern side of the main doorway, retains a massive hewn, chamfered bressumer.
