Description
Maes-Caradoc is a long rectangular two-storey building, aligned roughly north-south, and divided into two distinct but contemporary units. The exterior is constructed of roughcast rubblestone with painted brick surrounds for the windows and doors, topped by a slate roof featuring pebble-dashed brick stacks.
The front of the building has six regularly spaced recessed sash windows on the first floor, each with slightly cambered heads and slate cills, all being 6-paned. This window arrangement is repeated on the ground floor, where there is a central entrance for each unit. To the left is a 20th-century door, and to the right is a boarded door, both situated under a wide, shallow-pitched lean-to porch with a cambered outer doorway. The building includes integral end stacks and a ridge stack located roughly at the center.
At the rear of the northern unit, there is a catslide outshut and additional 6-pane sash windows. The rear of the southern unit is blind. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
