Description

Tan-y-Marian is a terrace of workman's cottages located at Nos 18-21 Gwynant Street, built in the second quarter of the 19th century. This two-storey terrace is constructed from roughly-squared stone blocks and features a continuous slate roof with a tiled ridge and plain, shared chimneys. Each cottage has a single window, with returned slate labels and slate lintels above the ground floor windows. All the doors are from the 20th century. Among the ground floor windows, number 18 retains the original 16-pane sash window, while numbers 18 and 19 have smaller 19th-century 16-pane sash windows under the eaves; the other windows have been replaced with modern versions. This terrace is part of a group of four cottages.
