Description

This is a row of three workman’s cottages, numbers 18 to 21 Gwynant Street, built in the second quarter of the 19th century. The cottages are constructed from roughly-squared stone blocks and have a continuous slate roof, a tiled ridge, and shared chimneys. Each cottage has a single window. The ground floor windows have returned slate labels and slate lintels. All the front doors are 20th-century replacements. Number 18 retains its original 16-pane sash window on the ground floor; numbers 18 and 19 have smaller original 16-pane sashes in the upper windows under the eaves. The remaining windows are modern replacements. The terrace forms part of a group of four similar cottages.
