Description

Ceunant-y-Parc is a single storey dwelling with a symmetrical, H-shaped plan, completely covered in dark blue slate. The slate includes both square and fish-scale varieties, along with cills, classical window surrounds featuring pronounced voussoirs, plinth slabs, distinctive corner shafts, and ridge tiles. The building has a gabled roof with cross gables on tall transverse wings at each end, and chimneys located at the rear. The gables are adorned with scalloped barge boards painted in the green of the Plas Brondanw estate. In the centre, there is a projecting half hipped porch that features a plank door, an overlight, and ornate ironwork. The main gables have tall round-headed windows with fixed 4-pane glazing and two-pane overlights. At the south end, there is a tall 3-light transomed casement that extends through the eaves beneath a hipped roof. The north end has two small horned sashes without glazing bars. The rear of the building includes a lean-to with additional similar sash windows.

Inside, the building is arranged into two high, square rooms flanking a central corridor, with services located in the rear outshut. The roof structure consists of curved pitch pine trusses set diagonally, with boarding above and tied together by wrought iron rods. The trusses rest on low corbels decorated with stylised plaster motifs of a female head, shell, and flowers. There is a second door inside the porch, and the other doors from the corridor to the rooms are six-panel doors with glazed upper panels. Both main rooms feature slate fireplaces.
