Description
Talyrni Cottage is a small 17th-century vernacular cottage of the single-storey crog lofft type. It is built of whitened rubble with boulder foundations and has an old slate roof, featuring two modern skylights on the front pitch. The cottage has squat end chimneys with plain capping and weathercoursing. The entrance, located near the center, has a boarded stable door, with 20th-century six-pane casements on either side. The left gable has a small square light on the left and a blocked former stair light on the right. Adjoining to the right is a later small addition, likely from the 19th century, which has a pitched roof covered in modern corrugated plastic and a boarded door at the front.
Inside, the cottage has thick walls with splayed window reveals and window seat boards. There is a curved bressummer above a wide fireplace on the left. The original purlins and truss feature a curved collar.
