Description
This T-shaped field cowhouse at Gardd-y-Llygaid-y-Dydd dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble on boulder foundations and features an old slate roof with uncoped rubble gable parapets, although the northeast gable is missing its parapet. The long section of the building has entrances at the northeast gable and the center of the long side, as well as an additional entrance to the right of the shorter arm at the rear. The entrances have recessed boarded doors, with the one on the long side covered by a modern corrugated iron catslide porch. The short projecting arm includes a boarded entrance on the northeast return and a ventilation slit in its upper gable.
The cowhouse consists of a four-bay main section and a two-bay subsidiary section, featuring original pegged collar and tiebeam trusses, with the ties cut off at the wall.
