Description

Nos 1-3 Peniel Terrace are a group of cottages dating back to the 19th century. They are arranged as two two-window units (Nos 2 and 3) and a single window end unit (No 1). Nos 2 and 3 each have a central entrance with a boarded door and a plain overlight, flanked by twelve-pane sash windows. No 1 has a similar door and a sash window to the left. All the cottages retain their original nine-pane sashes set under the eaves to the first floor. The rear of each cottage features nine and twelve-pane first-floor windows, with the twelve-pane windows contained within distinctive gabled dormers, one for each cottage, and triangular-headed upper sash sections. Further twelve-pane sashes are found on the ground floor, with an entrance at No 3. Nos 1 and 2 have single-storey rear extensions. The roughcast gable end of No 1 has modern windows.
