Description

Carreg Bach is a single-storey croglofft cottage built from whitewashed rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. It features a single stack at the north end, which was originally square and made of stone, as shown in an 1886 photograph, but has since been replaced with a smaller brick stack on a rendered base. The gable coping is made of quarry tiles and was added after 1886. The cottage is double-fronted, with a window on each side of a ledged door. The windows were originally small-pane sashes in 1886 but have been replaced with 20th-century versions. To the left of the cottage is a small outbuilding made of rubble stone, which has a corrugated-iron flat roof; this outbuilding had a slate gabled roof in 1886.

Inside, the cottage has a two-bay roof supported by a tie-beam truss, with a loft that can be accessed by a ladder and an unheated room below. There is a small fireplace in the main room.
