Description
The Central Piazza is located in the main flat area at the center of the village and features a formal fountain basin set within a raised and revetted terrace. This terrace is accessed by a shallow flight of cobbled steps leading up from the lower level in front of the Gothick Pavilion to the south. The steps are flanked by two urns and a balustrade, with tall Ionic columns at each end. These columns are adorned with gilded oriental dancing figures at the top. The fountain basin itself is rectangular with apsidal ends and has low copings. At the southern end, there is a circular stone fountain positioned on a circular plinth. Surrounding the fountain basin are raised flower beds.
