Description
Brynarvon and Weirglodd-newydd are two cottages built in a long rectangular plan, aligned roughly from south-west to north-east. The structure consists of two cottages, each with two rooms, and an additional single-bay extension on the right cottage, known as Weirglodd Newydd. The building is constructed from roughly coursed rubblestone, with the left cottage (Brynarvon) painted and featuring a rendered gable end. It has a slate roof with coped verges on the original right gable end.
The left cottage has 19th-century casement windows on either side of a 20th-century door located to the right of the center, and a ridge stack on the right that it shares with the right cottage. The right cottage mirrors this door and window arrangement, featuring a plank door and small-paned sash windows, along with a ridge stack that was formerly an integral end stack on the right. The extension on the right is set back and has a slender integral end stack, which is the only stack that does not have slate drips. There are drystone walled garden enclosures at the front of the property.
Inside, the right room has a matchboarded ceiling with the lower parts of two A-frame trusses visible beneath. There is a short screen immediately to the right of the entrance, and a 19th-century plank door leads to the left room.
