Description
The former stable at Penarth-fawr is a two-storey building made of local stone, topped with a slate roof. It has three bays, with the third bay closest to the road likely being a later extension that originally housed a stable on the ground floor and accommodation for a stable boy above. The building features two boarded doors and four-pane windows in the upper bays, along with three six-pane single sash windows on the first floor. There is a stack on the gable end facing the road, and a loft door at the eastern end, which is accessed by a straight external stair. An attached outbuilding is also present. At the rear, there is a long lean-to with a cart house opening at the western end.
Inside, the building has been refloored throughout in the 19th or early 20th century. It still retains some timber stable partitions and slate feeding troughs, along with a loft above.
