Description
Capel Siloh is a chapel featuring a rendered and lined-out exterior, with raised quoins and dressings, pebbledash in the pediment, and a slate roof. The gabled entrance faces the street and includes a rusticated rendered plinth and a central round-headed entrance. This entrance is flanked by a pair of four-panelled doors and a fanlight, all set within a projecting portico supported by paired Corinthian pilasters. The door is framed by an arched architrave with a keystone that rises to a moulded cornice. On either side of the entrance, there are tall pilastered round-headed windows with similar detailing, which rise from a moulded sill band and feature margin glazing. Above the portico pediment, there are two smaller windows set in a recessed panel. The string course at the base of the pediment breaks back over this panel, and an architraved arch at the centre bears the inscription SILOH / 1869.1897. The chapel is also adorned with moulded raking pediments.
The forecourt is enclosed by railings on a low rendered wall, which has central square piers that align with the street. The chapel was not accessible at the time of inspection.
