Description
The piggery and associated structures at Ty'n-llan are notable for their architectural features. The farmhouse is separated from the farmyard by a stone wall that continues along the roadside. This wall has openings leading to both the farmyard and the farmhouse, each framed by a pair of stone piers topped with hemispherical shapes. At the southern end, the wall meets the piggery, which consists of two pigsties topped with a slate roof. These pigsties have openings leading to roughly square stone-walled runs that extend into the farmyard, along with a third run at the northern end, likely intended for a farm dog, also featuring a square run. The southern wall of the pigsties continues to form the southern boundary of the farmyard, which includes an opening in the southwest corner that leads to a walled driftway curving to the southwest, as well as another, wider opening that appears to be a later addition.
