Description

The stable at Ffawydd, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of rubble stone with larger quoins and features a stone tile roof. It has a centrally-placed doorway leading to the yard, which is topped by a timber lintel and has a replaced stable door. The south gable end has been partly rebuilt and includes a single opening with wooden mullions. Below the gable, there is a small trefoil-headed owl hole, with its moulding likely salvaged from a medieval ecclesiastical building. The west gable end features a loft doorway under a timber lintel, which has a boarded door accessed by modern steps. Beneath this doorway is a ventilation slit. The building was not inspected at the time of the survey in January 1998.
