Description
Henbant Fach is a 2-storey house built into the bank of a steep site, featuring a former byre at the downhill end and an embattled tower added at the uphill end. The structure is made of random rubble sandstone and has a concrete pantile roof. At the downhill end, there is a 17th-century stone stack, while a later stone stack is located at the uphill end. The windows are recently added casements. On the lower storey, there is a hall window in the center and a former parlour window at a higher level to the right. The window to the left has been converted from a doorway. The upper storey contains three windows, with the left window being a late insertion. The former byre at the downhill end features a wide doorway with a 2-centred head and replaced doors. Above this doorway is a gablet that was added in 1977. The left gable end includes breathers above inserted windows.
Although not inspected during the survey conducted between December 1997 and January 1998, it was recorded by Jones and Smith that the building retains a 4-bay arched-brace roof. The hall includes a fireplace with a fireplace stair and a post-and-panel partition.
