Description
Hafod y Bryn is a two-storey house with a white roughcast render and a rough slate roof, featuring end wall and axial stacks. The building has a three-window range facing south, with the entrance located on the side. A central gambrel gable is present, and the main roofline slopes down low over the ground floor on either side, supported by bold angle brackets above a verandah that runs the length of the house. This verandah is enclosed as part of the left-hand room, while wooden rails are found elsewhere. The roofline extends across the central gable, which has an arched recess with voussoirs that contains a tripartite window. In the center of this window is a French door that leads to a balcony with a wooden balustrade.
To the right, there is a hipped roof above a three-light dormer window, and to the left, a similar dormer with a flat roof. The ground floor features a shallow canted bay window that opens onto the verandah. The rear elevation also includes a central gable with a first-floor oriel window and a round-arched doorway. The main roofline again sweeps down low over the ground floor on either side. The side elevation facing the lane has a doorway on the left and three-light windows with segmentally arched transoms on either side of a long four-light casement window.
