Description
The barn at Gwern-y-braichdwr is a rectangular structure built from local stone, topped with a steeply-pitched corrugated tin roof. On the east side, there are two entrances featuring modern boarded doors; the central entrance is full-height, while the one to the right is lower. The south gable is set into the slope, with a track running behind it, and includes an upper loading bay with an exposed timber lintel. There is a window on the west side, which was formerly an entrance but has since been reduced, and it also features an expressed timber lintel.
Inside, the barn has a five-bay layout with reused cruck blades that form pegged collar and tie-beam trusses. Notably, two of the tie beams have been cut and removed.
