Description
Craft Cymru, which includes 17 Castle Street, is a nearly symmetrical three-storey, three-bay house and shop. The lower storey features painted render, while the upper storeys are pebble-dashed, topped by a hipped slate roof behind a simple parapet. There are two roughcast stacks on the front roof slope and an end stack on the Castle Street side.
The lower storey has two large replaced windows and a replaced door on the left side. Above this, there is a broad inscription band that runs continuously around the Castle Street elevation. The middle storey has 12-pane sash windows that are unequally placed, while the upper storey features 9-pane sash windows. The left-hand corner of the building is rebated and rounded.
On the Castle Street elevation, there are four unequal bays with windows similar to those on the front, except the bay to the left of center is blind. A doorway to the left of center, which is accessed by steps, has a replaced recessed door with a boarded-up overlight. To the right of this doorway are replaced windows. The L-shaped rear of the building is roughcast and has small-pane sash windows facing the Castle Ditch elevation and 4-pane sash windows facing Castle Street.
