Description

Fron Heulog Lodge is a one-and-a-half storey building with a cruciform plan, accompanied by gatepiers and short adjoining screen wall sections. Constructed from local rubble, the lodge features a slate roof with oversailing verges and a large central chimney that has plain capping and weathercoursing.

The entrance front is symmetrical and consists of three bays. It has a central projecting gabled entrance bay that includes a modern boarded door with a rectangular glazed overlight. Above the door is a small pointed-arched window with wooden cusping, and the gable is adorned with decorative cusped bargeboards. On either side of the entrance are original pegged cross windows, which were initially fitted with leaded panes and each included one opening casement section; these are now plain-glazed. The sides of the lodge feature modern 12-pane, 2-part windows with concrete lintels, and the road-facing side has a small blocked-up porter's window. The broader gabled rear arm has a modern part-glazed door, which was formerly a window, and above it is a later 19th-century 4-pane sash window. To the left return, there is a 20th-century 4-pane window with a concrete lintel.

Inside, the entrance lobby has angled entrances leading to the left and right rooms, with pegged oak frames. The interior features plain pine joists and pine boarded doors.
