Description

Islwyn, formerly known as Ty Isa, is a two-storey late Victorian manse constructed of uncoursed slatestone with red brick quoining around the openings. It features a medium-steep slate roof with brick end chimneys topped with ceramic pots. The building has a symmetrical three-bay facade with a central entrance that includes a modern glazed door and a rectangular glazed overlight above it. There is an inset slate dedication plaque framed in brick above the door, which bears a Welsh inscription with the date 1886 and the name 'Ty Isa, Llandderfel'. The original windows are 4-pane sashes with projecting stone sills. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
