Description
The Old Toll House is a single-storey building dating from the 19th century, designed in an L-plan. It is constructed of whitewashed rubble with a slate roof on the front and stone slates at the rear. The northern end features a canted bay with a hipped roof and a projecting porch that faces the main road, which includes a ribbed, boarded door. There is a central rubble stack with a plain cornice and weather coursing, and a cross-gable at the rear that has a later extension. The building has simple, slightly recessed 4-pane windows with small casement openings, along with two small 20th-century skylights on the northeast pitch of the cross-gable.
