Description

This is a mid-19th century former inn of two storeys and a broad, two-window front. The exterior is pebble-dashed rubble with a medium-pitched slate roof, featuring deep verges and plain bargeboards to the southwest gable. The building has squat chimneys constructed of rubble, one central with a cornice and weather coursing, and another to the left gable end. A mid-Victorian shop front with three bays is located on the left-hand side, with a central entrance. The recessed entrance door has two panels, each with a round-arched head, and is flanked by vertically-panelled pilasters. To either side of the entrance are two large shop windows with six panes, the upper lights featuring arched glazing bars, and flanking pilasters. A plain fascia and a simple cornice run above the shop front. Recessed twelve-pane sash windows are found above the entrance and to the ground and first floors on the right-hand side; these have slate sills and flat, rendered arches. A modern lean-to addition is present on the left-hand side.
