Description
Rhos House is a two-storey sub-medieval house that has evolved into an L-plan structure. It is built of rubble with slate roofs and features distinctive triangular crestings on its end chimneys. The main block has a west-facing front with two windows, each containing 12-pane sashes, flanking a central entrance that serves both floors. The upper floor windows are topped with gabled dormers, and the principal gables of this wing are slab-coped. The later rear range includes two 2-pane sashes facing the lane to the south, along with a similar window on the first floor set within a gabled dormer. The bargeboards are plain. At the rear of the primary range, there is a full-length lean-to that extends into the angle with the later block.
Inside, the house retains low beamed ceilings and a massive timber lintel in the left gable range. A timber stair rises straight from the entrance lobby.
