Description

Pen Bwlch Bach is a single-storey, two-room cottage aligned roughly north-south, with a contemporary cowhouse attached to the south gable end under the same roofline. The cottage was built sometime in the 20th century. It is constructed of white-rendered rubblestone with a white slurry-coated slate roof, featuring a ridge painted black and blue. The original cottage section on the left side has a 20th-century window in an original opening, with a slate sill to the left of a flat-roofed porch. A substantial stack is located to the right, at the junction with the former cowhouse. The cowhouse has a lean-to former dairy at the front and a similar lean-to at the rear. A further small lean-to is situated at the rear on the left side. The right-hand room of the original cottage contains an open fireplace with a rough timber lintel, and a portion of the roof truss is visible within that room.
