Description

The Engine House is a Grade II listed structure built with regularly coursed slate slabs and features a slate roof that has an integral end stack on the right. On the east side, there is a single rectangular window opening, although the window itself is missing. The right gable end includes a 6-paned sash window with a projecting slate lintel above which is a 2-light casement window. The west elevation has a multi-paned window on the left and a doorway on the right, along with a rooflight located at the bottom of the roof slope to the left. This building is associated with a blondin ropeway system.

Inside, the Engine House retains a winding drum that is operated by a Bruce Peebles 3-phase motor from 1906, which is connected through reduction gearing. The motor, control mechanism, and liquid controller are all still present.
