Description

The Engine House is a Grade II listed building featuring regularly coursed slate slabs, with the upper part of the right gable end rendered. It has a slate roof with a red brick integral end stack on the right gable end. The front wall includes a wide horizontal window on the left and a doorway on the right, with additional windows located at the center of the gable ends. This building is associated with the blondin ropeway system that runs to the north-west.

Inside, it retains a winding drum that is operated by a Bruce Peebles 3-phase motor from 1906, which is connected through reduction gearing. The motor, control mechanism, and liquid controller are all still present.
