Description
The disused cottage at Buarth Newydd is a single-storey, two-room structure that runs roughly from north-east to south-west, with outbuildings attached at both ends. It is built from roughly coursed rubblestone and shows traces of limewash on the front, topped by a graded slate roof. The original part of the house in the center features original window openings, which were boarded up during the survey, and has slate cills on either side of a widened doorway. There are substantial ridge stacks on both the left and right sides where the cottage meets the outbuildings. The right outbuilding is slightly lower than the main roof and has a boarded door on the left, continuing as a catslide outshut at the rear. The left outbuilding has a catslide outshut at the front, possibly indicating it was a former dairy, with vertical slate slabs on the flank wall and two doorways on the left gable end. Both the cottage and the outbuildings have blank rear walls. The interior was not accessible during the survey.
